Trdnjava Kluže

The Kluže Fortress has been very important in the past, because it represented the entering point into the Bovec basin, so this area was also called the Bovec door. First, it was made out of wood, then it changed into stone over the centuries. It is important to mention its defensive role in the Turkish invasions, the Napoleon Bonaparte’s conquests and the Isonzo Front.
