Krnsko jezero

Pinched between the slopes of two mountains, Mt. Veliki Lemež (2042 m) and Mt. Mali Šmohor (1939 m) lies the Krn lake. Mt. Krn (2244 m), which gave a lake its name, is rising three kilometers away and only observing the largest Slovenian alpine lake from the distance. A walk to this alpine pearl at the heart of the Julian Alps is one of the easiest from Posočje, the starting point is Dom Klementa Juga in the Lepena valley. Here you can enjoy the refreshing mountain air and recharge your batteries, the surrounding of the lake is especially beautiful in spring when it boasts with colorful mountain flowers.
